Oktoberfest & Cinderella's Castle
Day 1
Arrive in Munich, drop bags at hotel and head straight to Oktoberfest!
💟 Check out this tour: Oktoberfest Airbnb Tour (£66) Led by Munich resident, Harry, the tour includes a short walk around Munich where Harry gives some history to Oktoberfest. Once in the festival, Harry buys everyone a free maß and tries to get the group into an official Oktoberfest tent, dependent on capacity, timing etc.
There’s plenty to do at Oktoberfest to keep you going into the evening but if you fancy heading into the centre of Munich to finish the night, here are some great bars to try:
Day 2
On your second day, head out to Oktoberfest for another day of beer, pretzels, and wurst. Or if one day was enough for you, explore Munich. Its a relatively small city and walkable/ bikeable.

Day 3
Whilst you're down in Bavaria, exploring the natural landscapes the region has to offer is a must.
Meet Airbnb tour guide Thomas at Munich Hauptbahnhof where he will have your return ticket to Bayrischzell (included in the price) ready. The tour also includes light snacks and juice. Thomas takes the group up Wendelstein Mountain - its a fairly strenuous hike in parts so be sure to have a good level of general fitness before joining the tour. The views from the top are incredible, and there's a restaurant where you can get some food/ rest. Thomas gives the group the option to hike back down or get the cable car (additional cost - €14 one way), before heading back to Munich.
You'll probably be pretty exhausted after this hike so best not to plan anything afterwards. Grab some hearty food and get an early night.
Note: you can also get the cable car both up and down Wendelstein (€22.50 return) instead of hiking. So you could take the train from Munich out to Osterhofen and catch the cable car. You might then be less tired in the evening so some dinner options are:
Day 4
Grab and go breakfast at Munich Central Station.
💟 Neuschwanstein Castle
Get the train from Munich Hauptbahnhof to Füssen (~£40 return). Upon arrival at Füssen get the no.78 bus which is clearly marked for the castles (all tourists head towards this bus so you can't miss it). It costs a few euros and you'll need cash.
Once you get off the bus, you can purchase your tickets for entry into the castle (€15.50 for Neuschwanstein or €25 for the addition of Hohenschwangau castle).
Alternatively you can just enjoy the external views of the castle for free, and walk around the surrounding hills.
Note: the walk up the hill to the castle from the bus stop takes about 30 mins.
